A Second Tier in Ruins 2007-03-31
News Update

I'm not quite sure what's come over Ancient Dominion in the last month, but whatever it is, I like it! Not content with finishing last month with a major guild first - the defeat of Sanguimanus the Redfang - those hardy raiders have not only matched this feat, but superceded it on an unpredictably impressive manner. The death of Redfang gave us access to new and challenging content... and what better way to meet a challenge than to rise to it!!

First on our list was a Mr. Devlin Rochester; previously only briefly visited the once whilst riding the wave of our Redfang success on that very evening. Our return, in a relatively sober sense (by AD's standards), saw us much better prepared to dodge his poorly "lobbed" vials, avoid his erratic weapon slinging attempts, and sent his many undead servants back to the underworld where they belong. What an achievement! So, of course we sat back and lapped up the moment, right...?

WRONG!! Meet Tris Wallow III. She's a lovely lass, but has a penchant for sudden mood swings and - between you and I - isn't always as eye-pleasing as she could be... something to do with the excessive facial and body hair that seems to spring up from time to time. It's a good job we were on hand to point out and rectify these flaws though. A good dose of curse curing soon cleared up her lycanthropy and put us halfway through the second Tier of the Demiplane of Blood in just a couple of days, and without us breaking much of a sweat.

Next up were Roley and Adrianna De Farge - Dreadspire's answer to Fred and Ginger, though somewhat less hospitable. Not content with filling their own dance cards, they seemed to want to fill ours as well. Not a problem! One, two, three, stab, two, three, poke, two, three, DEAD, two, three! Come here often? Great... We will too then. With three out of four events successfully completed in March, let's see if we can PERFORM as well in April!

All in all, not a bad month for achievements... and I'm convinced we were making Sony nervous as they did everything they could to try and slow us down!

SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT...

...when you're learning more about your fellow raiders...

...if you're an Enchanter...

...when you're discussing your personal life...

...if you're being chased by a large bipedal bull with an axe...

...if you're the sacrificial Magician on "Call" duty...

...when you feel your efforts aren't being properly recognised...

...when you have a high pressure job...

...when you're tasked with making sure a mob drops the right items...

...when you're getting fresh buffs...

...when you're coming up with alternative strats on the fly...

...when you're returning from a lengthy absence...

...when you've achieved the seemingly unachieveable...

...when your name is Doris...

Before we wrap things up for this month, I should just like to add that with our commendable surge into Tier Two of the Demiplane comes access to all manner of new and very appealing items. Some of us have already indulged ourselves, while others await their turn to do the same. Of all the items available, some of the more sought after are a selection of seemingly unimpressive pages that, when handed to a man by the name of Eric Von Schnelling in Dreadspire Keep yield an upgrade to the Epic weapons so many of us carry. It's not often I achieve such a first, so I would like to thank everyone for their part in equipping Ninelives Liveforten with Ancient Dominion's first "Epic 2.5". I foresee many more in the weeks and months to come!

That's all for this month, but I will once again leave you with some words of... well... not exactly wisdom, but they certainly score bonus points for effort! Until next time!
